Broadway Stars

Have a fun filled week exploring styles and choreography from popular musical theater productions! We’ll make your stars shine with fun themed crafts and a performance to show off their new moves!

Super hero Dance Training
Ages 5 - 12

Performance on Friday, June 28, at 11:30 am in Studio 2.
Discover and train your super powers in this week long camp filled with super-suit design crafts, specialized superhero training, and a demonstration of your super-abilities!

Fiesta!

Let’s have a fiesta! Join us for a week of dancing and crafting to the music of Columbia, Mexico, and more! We’ll wrap up this week of celebration with a special performance to show off your new skills!

World Explorers
Week 1: July 8 - 12

Rockford Dance Company is partnering with Rockford Symphony Orchestra and Rockford Art Museum to present this FREE camp for RPS 205 students entering third or fourth grade in Fall 2024. Two weeks of camp are offered, with different countries explored each week. Students may register to attend Week 1, Week 2, or both weeks of the Summer Camp.

Nutcracker Workshops:
Prepare for our annual The Nutcracker auditions in these weeklong workshops. During the week your dancer will learn all the choreography they’ll need to know to nail their audition!

Intermediate/Advanced Summer Program
Summer Classes:

18 months - 3 years
Tuesdays and/or Thursdays 10:00 - 10:30am
This class is designed to help your child feel comfortable exploring music and movement with you by their side. Students learn dance movements while developing healthy toddler bodies and coordination. This is the perfect way to spend time with your toddler as they are introduced to the joy of dancing!
One class per week: $40
Two classes per week: $80
Preschool Dance
3 - 4 years
Tuesdays 4:30 - 5:00pm
Students gain balance, strength, and coordination as they explore how their bodies move. The curriculum is carefully designed to gently introduce these students to a structured, safe classroom environment. They will work on listening skills, following directions, and taking turns as they also learn the fundamentals of dance.

Ballet/Tap

Ballet/Tap is an introductory class combining skills from both ballet and tap. They will learn the basics of musicality, ballet, and tap as they get more familiar with movement and being in a classroom setting. *Both ballet and tap shoes are required.

Introduction To Ballet

This class is an introduction to the structure and discipline of ballet. Introduction to Ballet focuses on body alignment, strength, balance, and coordination, while fostering a love for dance! Registration is separated by month! Take this class July and/or August.

Level 1: Ballet
8 - 9 years
Tuesdays 5:00 - 6:30
Students begin formal training with a focus on barre work. This class is for students who were enrolled in Level 1 during the '23-'24 season, or for dancers ages 8 - 9 who are new to ballet! No classes the week of July 4th.

Level 2: Ballet
Thursdays 5:00 - 6:30
Students progress past the basic movements learned in Level 1 to begin learning more complicated movements, start building endurance, and gain physical strength. This class is for students who were enrolled in Level 2 during the '23-'24 season. No classes the week of July 4th

Company Studio work & Open studio
Mondays and/or Wednesdays 5:00 - 7:30
Stay limber over the summer, or prepare for RDC Company auditions! Aspiring and current RDC Company members up to age 18 are welcome into our studios for structured class time from 5:00-6:30, and open studio space from 6:30-7:30. Staff will be on site through duration. You can choose to enroll in one day per week or two days per week! No classes the week of July 4th.
