This program introduces ages 3-7 yrs. to their first years of dance training. This program is designed to build basic motor skills, coordination and a sense of rhythm and creativity. Fundamental ballet terms and positions are introduced, as well as tap and folk dance. Placement is by age and previous experience.
This division consists of beginning level: Ballet I, II and intermediate levels, Ballet III, Ballet IV, Ballet V. Beginning at the age of 8, students progress through classical training and advance according to their accomplishments at each level. New students are placed based on a faculty evaluation to determine the appropriate level in which they should study. Modern and jazz dance forms are introduced and students are placed according to their skill level.
This division is for the Company level dancer. Company dancers must audition for membership in June and August. Professional dancers may attend company classes with the approval of the Artistic Director.
Classes are open to participants who want to try an introductory program of our student division and for teens and adults with or without previous experience. This program meets the varied interests of those who want to improve their physical fitness, continue previous training, or just want to learn more about the art of dance. Placement is not necessary and a convenient class card is available as an alternative to registering for a full session and is priced at a lower rate than a one time drop-in class fee.
