Meet the Administration

 

Cindy Jo Savitski-Lantz, Executive Director

Cindy has been the Executive Director since 2003.  Prior to that, Cindy served the company as a production manager of "The Nutcracker" and spring performances from 1996 to 2003.  Cindy's background is in theater and has worked for New American Theater, Steppenwolf Theater, Body Politic Theater, Northlight Repertory Theater and was the Production Manager for the original production of "Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?" at the Forum Theater.

Cindy is responsible for the company as a whole, including grant writing, marketing, and fundraising.  Cindy reports to the Board of Directors.  She will assist you any staff concerns, payment concerns or organization  policies.

Margaret C. Faust, Artistic Director

Margaret has served as the Artistic Director since 1996.  She has been responsible for raising the level of training for the Company and is well known for her high quality of performance and performance values.  She received her original training from Richard Ellis and Christine DuBoulay in Chicago.  After attending Rockford College for one year, where she studied under Jayne Poor, she continued her studies in ballet at Texas Christian University and the University of Utah, earning her BFA and MFA in Ballet respectively.

Margaret has danced with Ballet West, Fort Worth Ballet Association, the Ft. Worth Opera, Ballet West, the Bodyworks Dance Ensemble, Northern Dance Theatre, and Salt Creek Ballet.  The Bodyworks Dance Ensemble, Northern Dance Theatre, Virginia Intermont College Dance Company, Salt Creek Ballet Company and Ballet Jeunesse have performed her choreography.  She has studied professionally with David Howard and Larry Long among others. A prolific choreographer her ballets have been performed throughout the country. For RDC she has created a full-length A Midsummer Night's Dream, Sinfonia de Requiem, Gala, Still Cruisin, Bad De Vienne, BOYCETEROUS, and In Memory's Embrace.  Margaret established the popular Young Choreographers Concert for Company members in 1999.

Ms. Faust is responsible for the artistic intent of productions, training of the company, setting the standard of training for the school, and the sole responsibility of casting.  She can assist you any questions regarding training and the placement of the higher levels of ballet.

Steven Cassady, Interim School Director

Steven joined the Rockford Dance Company teaching staff in 2005.  This year he as has accepted the responsibility of the Interim School Director and DanceReach Director.  Steven teaches modern, jazz and tap. Steven graduated from the University of Illinois with a Dance Performance Bachelors.  Steven has worked for the Harlem Dance Theater, Knox College, Zellmers Theater and the Peoria Civic Theater.

Steven is in responsible for the teaching staff, maintaining the level of instruction, setting class schedules and the School Performance.  Mr Cassady also runs the DanceReach program.  He can assist you with any questions regarding school policies, teacher concerns, placement and class curriculum.

Tamara Newquist, Outreach Director

Tamara has served as the Outreach Director since 2005.  She has overseen outreach programming such as; Terrific Tuesday, Fantastic Fridays;  Rally; Arts Revival;  Girl Scouts on the Move and 21st Century After School programming.  She is happy to discuss these programs or a specialized program for your group.

Pam Parkinson, Office Manager & Graphic Artist

Pam joined the company in 2002 and has become the "go to" person for any type of question.  Pam also serves as our in house photographer and is responsible for all of our graphic work.

Chris Saporiti, Registrar

Chris joined the company in 2006 and her main responsibility is the registration of the school.  She is the best person to ask regarding uniform, billing and school performance issues.
